VBS

VBS adds rotations to a Sign Ups event: stations, time slots, groups of kids moving between them and a live Mission Control board so everyone knows where every group (and every child) is right now.

VBS is an add-on. It lives inside Sign Ups and uses the event's registrants and volunteers.

Turn it on

  1. Create the event in Sign Ups. See Events.
  2. Pick the event, go to Sign Ups > Settings > Features.
  3. Under Premium Powerups, turn on VBS. It takes effect right away.

The VBS pages show up in the Sign Ups sidebar: Mission Control, Groups, Stations, Schedule and Rotations.

Choosing "VBS" as the event type doesn't turn this on. You need the switch. If you see Add VBS instead of a switch, your church doesn't have the add-on yet.

Turning VBS off permanently deletes the event's stations, days, time slots, groupings and rotations. Registrants, assignments and volunteers stay.

Set it up in this order

  1. Schedule: the days and time slots.
  2. Stations: where groups go, like Crafts or Games.
  3. Groups: groupings (like Kindergarten) and the groups inside them.
  4. Put kids in groups on Assignments.
  5. Rotations: which group is at which station in each time slot.
  6. Mission Control during the week.

The Dashboard's Setup Checklist shows what's Ready and what's In progress.

Theme

Under Settings, open the event's VBS section to set a Theme name, upload a Logo and pick an Accent color (or use Colors from your logo). The accent color is used across Sign Ups while this event is selected.

Pickup cards

Every family gets a pickup code automatically. To print cards, go to Registrants or Assignments and choose Print > Pickup Cards. You can sort by last name, pickup code or group and add header text like "PARENT PICK UP".
