Find your way around

Every tool in Ministry Toolkit is laid out the same way, so once you know one you know them all.

The layout​

  • Left sidebar: the pages in the tool you're using. The tool's Settings sits at the bottom, along with Notifications and Collapse.
  • Top bar, left: the tool icon (click it to switch tools) and the name of the page you're on.
  • Top bar, right: controls for this tool, like the ministry switcher, the event picker and the Sync button, then search and your avatar.

On a phone, the sidebar moves into the menu button at the top.

Switch tools​

Click the tool icon with the small arrow at the top left. You'll see every tool you have access to: Sign Ups, Follow Up, Attendance, Volunteers and Groups (plus VBS if your church has it). Each tool reopens on the last page you were on.

Switch ministries​

Most of what you see belongs to a ministry: events, boards, groups and volunteer teams. The ministry switcher (a colored dot and a ministry name in the top bar) picks which one you're looking at.

  • Administrators can pick any ministry.
  • Everyone else only sees the ministries they've been added to.
  • If you only have one ministry, the switcher is hidden. There's nothing to switch.

One ministry is always selected. Your choice is remembered next time you sign in on the same browser.

Sync​

The Sync button (two curved arrows in the top bar) pulls the latest from CCB for the tool you're in. Hover it to see when it last ran.

  • While it runs, it spins. When it's done you'll see a short summary like "Synced: 3 new people, 2 new registrations".
  • If it's grayed out, that tool has nothing connected to CCB yet.
  • Your church can also sync everything on a schedule.

Click the magnifying glass, or press Cmd K on a Mac (Ctrl K on Windows). Type at least two letters of a name to find a person, or type a tool, event or board name to jump straight to it. Click a person to see their contact details, sign-ups, follow-up and attendance in one panel.

Notifications​

Click Notifications at the bottom of the sidebar. The red number is how many you haven't read. You'll get notified about things like new first-time visitors, sync problems and follow-up reminders. Click one to go straight to it. Mark all read and Clear all are at the top.

Notifications aren't in the phone layout yet. Use a computer to read them.

Your avatar menu​

Click your initials in the top right to:

  • see your name, email and role (Administrator, Ministry Leader or Member)
  • switch the Theme between Light, Dark and Auto (Auto follows your computer)
  • open Workspace Settings (Administrators only)
  • Sign Out

Home​

Home at the top of the sidebar shows a card for each of your tools. Click the pin on a card to open that tool automatically every time you sign in. The pin is saved on this browser only.
